The above pictures display a before and after of a shoreline restoration
project for private client on Beaver Lake. This project was once a weed patch of
bull thistle, purple loosestrife and willow. It is now a beautiful mesic prairie
buffer zone that is made up of at least 15 species of native grasses and
wildflower.
The above pictures display a before and after of a sedge meadow seeding project
in Waukesha. This wetland was disturbed due to a sewer and watermain crossing.
Soon after construction, all exposed soils were seeded with a native sedge
meadow seed mixture. Now just completing its third year and after thorough
monitoring and management, this site supports at least 18 native wetland plant
species.
What was once a cornfield along an environmentally sensitive creek in
Oconomowoc, is now a beautiful native prairie that just completed its third full
growing season. A minimum of 20 native wild flowers and grasses are beginning to
thrive on this project site. Again, thorough monitoring and managing has played
a big role in the success of this restoration.
